When the nurse tells your child that he has head lice and is sent home that can be a very embarrassing moment for your child. If your child comes home from school with lice make sure to validate his feelings about having head lice. Ask him how he felt when the nurse sent him home. This will help neutralize the emotion and pass through him. Lice detection should not be shameful.
